Years Of Experience

Vernon Osborn - President

Vernon Osborn was introduced into the crane industry in 1966 as a mechanical assembly foreman for Kranco. He spent seven years learning everything he could along the way and successfully managed over 20 mechanics in his department. This experience earned him a reputation in the industry and an opportunity, along with a handful of other Kranco managers to form Landel, a new player in overhead crane manufacturing, in 1973. After six years as a service manager with Landel, he took a chance on entering the business himself.

Osborn Industries

After a long and successful venture to Landel, Mr. Osborn set out to start a turnkey crane manufacturing plant for commercial manufacturers and end-users. Osborn industries found very specific needs that end-users wanted but were not being fulfilled by any manufacturer.

Offering the end-user total project completion previously unavailable in the industry, Osborn Industries closed the gap by offering crane installation and start-up capabilities for crane manufacturers. However, over time, that niche grew into the custom fabrication of unique cranes that manufacturers weren’t interested in building.

During this time, Osborn was able to meet very unique application demands and not only designed but fabricated many special cranes as well as other unique structures. During his tenure as President of Osborn Industries, Vernon made quite an impact on the industry patenting and manufacturing an exclusive vertical traveling platform.

This platform was used for loading and unloading tank trucks and tank cars in the petrochemical industry. They were so ahead of their time and successful, that they are wildly used in the industry worldwide to this day.

Osborn Technical Services

After 23 years of serving as President of the successful business he created, Mr. Osborn decided he wanted to be more involved with client’s needs within industry. He wanted to build a business on the premise of in-depth consulting, maintenance, inspections, project management, and crane modifications.

So, in 2002 Osborn Technical Services was opened with the intent to be a smaller organization that focuses intently on a closer relationship with clients. Delivering a hands-on approach to give clients the utmost in detailed workmanship, quality manufacturing, and dedicated customer service, it’s a throwback to how businesses used to operate.

While the design, engineering, fabrication, and quality control are still performed by the team he has trusted for decades-one thing stands out-personal service.
